Aroundsquare"s stainless steel Knucklebones are a pocket friendly skill toy that can be manipulated to perform tricks or just pass the time. The surface is machine finished with a light polish, and although stainless steel is not as tacky as brass or copper, the finish nonetheless provides a sufficient grip to prevent it from slipping out of the fingers. Playing the heavy metal versions can be good exercise for the fingers, and the momentum can be an advantage for learning certain tricks. The metal kbones are laser etched with the word "a r o u n d s q u a r e" around the equator to mark their authenticity.
The weight and hard material mean it will make a
loud noise when it is dropped on hard surfaces, and has the potential to
break things in its path. Be careful with it. The brass is relatively
soft, and will still show scratches and dings on the drop portions.. it
falls with weight, so it hits concrete hard.
The 90% size "Mini" size gives a level of performance comparable to the
original kbone size, with slightly less bulk. The 80% size "Micro" is
still technically capable of all the same tricks, but for seasoned
players, the size will feel very small, and will encourage a different
style of play that is less dependent on momentum.
Knucklebone Micro (roughly 80% of original dimensions) weight 38.9g.
Knucklebone Mini (roughly 90% of original dimensions) weight 56.0g.
